  • Tender Houses – 2015

    In the days when lift bridges and draw bridges were regularly raised and lowered to allow river traffic to pass each bridge had one or more tender houses where workers watched for boats and controlled the bridge.  These tender houses are located in Chicago.

  • Mackinac Island

  • Interior Lighthouse Photos

    These, with a couple of exceptions, are some images of the interior of the Big Bay Point Lighthouse where Connie and I spent three nights during our last vacation.  A beautiful location overlooking Lake Superior about 25 miles west of Marquette, Michigan.  The lighthouse sits near a 60 foot bluff along the lake and the light itself is about 120 feet above the lake’s surface.  The lighthouse is now a bed and breakfast with seven guest rooms.   • Evening Reflections

  • Fox Theater, Part II

    During our backstage photo tour of the Fox Theater (see yesterday’s post, Fox Theater, Part I) we were able to visit many areas not normally available to the public.  An interesting area was near the dressing rooms where artists and performers are allowed to decorate the walls, doors, and even the underside of stairs with art work and cast signatures.  Just a few of these are shared here.
