    Some of my favorite subjects at the Missouri Botanical Garden are the water lilies, particularly in the late summer or early autumn when many other flowers have completed blooming.  I visited the Garden today and even the water lilies were in short supply although a number of buds remain so the numbers should increase in the next few days.  Even though the lilies themselves weren’t in abundance, the lily pads were still there and the conditions were right for some […]

    Whitetail Buck – As mating season, or the rut, gets close this whitetail buck has probably lost all of the velvet off of his antlers by now.  Although he is a nice sized buck, he’s not the largest I’ve seen in this area so this may not be his year for mating with one of the does.
