    One of three devil’s tongues (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius) on display at the Linnean House in the Missouri Botanical Garden. Devil’s tongues are part of the same family as the Titan arum or “corpse flower” although they are smaller.  The distinctive flower of the devil’s tongue is the spadix and hood, or leaf, that encloses the spadix is the spathe.
