    Old shutter-covered door in Ste. Genevieve, MO.  What history does it hold?  Since the steps below the door seem to be long departed, one assumes the door is no longer used.  The use of shutters over a door seems unusual for a Midwest building but perhaps they were used to allow cross-ventilation while keeping out the direct light and heat from the sun.  The windows in the building had similar shutters although they were not as tall.  The opening in […]

    Experimenting a bit tonight with some post processing effects.  These are three shot HDR images processed in Nik HDR Efex Pro.  The first image is relatively untouched from the processing in the Nik software using default settings.  It was cropped from the original size to a 16 X 9 format.     The Apotheosis of St. Louis is a bronze statue located at the top of Art Hill in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO, near the Art Museum.  It was presented to the City by the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Company after the 1904 World’s Fair.  It duplicates a plaster statue designed by Charles H.
