While yesterday’s baseball game was cancelled, I still had a great time with my favorite people. The special person in my life, Connie, and my grandson, Ezra, shared the afternoon. The look here seems to say that while Ezra likes being in photos with us, he is also thinking of some mischief that is waiting for him.

“Get Your Kicks…”
In October 1960 a tv series about two young men travelling across the United States was released. Originally to be called “The Searchers” the series was renamed “Route 66” because of conflicts with a movie released in the same timeframe. Route 66, from Chicago to Los Angeles, had been immortalized in a song written by Bobby Troup and originally recorded by Nat King Cole in 1946. While the tv series shared the name, according to one star very little, if any, […]

Evening Reflections
A late evening image from the Missouri Botanical Garden. This image was captured at the end of one of the Whitaker Music Festival performances as we were departing the Garden. Not having a tripod that evening, the camera was rested on a bench for a long exposure.

Birthdays, posted 6/27/2014
My grandson turned six this week. A big moment in his life. Seems like only yesterday that he was the small baby in the image here. For most youngsters the sixth birthday is a big milestone. Rocky Animals

Fox Theater, Part II
During our backstage photo tour of the Fox Theater (see yesterday’s post, Fox Theater, Part I) we were able to visit many areas not normally available to the public. An interesting area was near the dressing rooms where artists and performers are allowed to decorate the walls, doors, and even the underside of stairs with art work and cast signatures. Just a few of these are shared here.

Great Blue Heron
A couple of weeks ago my favorite lady, Connie, and I were at one of our local parks to get some images of a small waterfall and other landscapes. While we were walking along the lake shore we came across this guy. Unlike most herons that I have seen he was intent on finding dinner and seemed totally uninterested in us which allowed us to approach closely and capture a large number of images. The first three in the set […]

Maplewood at Night, 2014-06-20
A few nighttime images from downtown Maplewood, most from last night around 10:30. These four were taken using available light. I hope to expand the number of images in this set in the near future.
