Italian Trains, posted 2013-02-27

Had to go way back in the archives to find these photos.  They are scans of slides, probably Kodachrome, from the 1979-1980 timeframe.  I believe the top photo was taken in Firenze (Florence); the center photo in either Firenze or Pisa; and the lower photo at a location I can’t identify.  Passenger train travel has played a large role in European life for as long as I remember, much more so than in the U.S.  Many of the older trains have now been replaced by high speed rail like the ICE and some of these high speed trains are already in their second generations.
