As the Halloween season approached, the perfect place to visit was Salem – home of the witch trials. While we didn’t see any witches, warlocks, or goblins there were plenty of seasonal decorations along with the beauty of another New England town. Just a few photos from Salem here:
An eagle outside the entrance to the Hawthorne Hotel
Cupola on the old Custom House
Another eagle, this one on the Custom House
An overall view of the Custom House
A residence decorated for the season
A well decorated flower shop
We couldn’t resist a visit to the local confectioner – everything looked and tasted great (but we limited ourselves to just a few small items)
Bed and Breakfast near the House of Seven Gables
While I had a sign for this restaurant, I thought the decals on the side of this restored Ford pickup were more interesting.
An interesting mix of Halloween decorations on the windows of this cafe
The Salem Lighthouse (from the garden at the House of Seven Gables)
The Ship Friendship
