  • Bathing Eagle (Mad Bird)

    thumbnail

We visited the World Bird Sanctuary near Valley Park, MO this weekend.  While there were many opportunities to photograph the birds there, this series of an eagle bathing in one of their enclosures is a favorite.  When I looked at the first photo I immediately named it “Mad Bird” because of the expression and the positioning of the wings.

This group of photos are from the town of Mystic, CT. This calico met us on the street while we were taking photos of the Mystic Boat Yard.  It stayed close the entire time we were there then went back to one of the neighborhood houses as we were leaving. • Early Morning and more, Lake Huron

    thumbnail

One of several attempts to capture the early morning sun over Lake Huron in St. Ignace, MI.  In the far distance, mostly obscured by the fog, is Mackinac Island.  The fog lasted for about an hour or so after sunrise then lifted to give a clear view of the island. • Rain

    thumbnail

This flooding creates problems for residents and businesses along the River but for the egrets and herons it seems to have created opportunities for summer feeding that […]

  • Evening Reflections

    thumbnail

A late evening image from the Missouri Botanical Garden.  This image was captured at the end of one of the Whitaker Music Festival performances as we were departing the Garden.  Not having a tripod that evening, the camera was rested on a bench for a long exposure.
